In those places where it is necessary for safety reasons, we will elevate and reinforce the Scheldt Levees. And that can only be a good thing for hikers and cyclists! While the people who life and work close to the Scheldt won't have to drag any more sandbags back and forth, recreational visitors will be able to enjoy to the fullest these many extras: refurbished towpaths, brand-new bicycle bridges and handsome jetties for pleasure boats.
