Where?

The Sigma Plan project areas are spread out over a large swath of Flanders. They are located along the various tidal rivers: the Scheldt, the Drume, the Nete, the Kleine Nete, the Grote Nete, the Dyle, the Rupel, the Demer and the Zenne.

Every five years, we launch new projects. Some of these are still in progress. The projects in other areas have been completed and have already proven their effectiveness during various storms. In 2030, we will complete the last of the Sigma Plan projects. After that, the Scheldt and its tributaries should be climate-resilient until the year 2100.
